Thankful Thursday

We are thankful today

for the green leaves

in the garden behind ours and to sit

in the shade there and shelter from the hot sun.

We love the trees there that make it private.

We are thankful too for the winds that cool us and to 

have each other to have fun with 

and for Mum to call us

when it's time for dinner and to give us cuddles.

I am thankful for a full tummy

and  a comfy bed to snooze on

some nip to sniff

a garage roof to keep watch from

and our nip banana

for my basket with it's soft blankie inside

It's a wonderful place for a nap.

for my dinner

and I am too.

One of us eats neatly

and one of us is messy!

We are thankful when

on a cold winter's night Mum sits in her chair 

and puts her feet up on the stool.

Then she wraps herself  in a quilt to keep her feet

toasty warm.

We both jump on her so she can keep us warm

too while we doze.

She gets the evil eye if she wants to get up

to get herself a drink!
