May we introduce Max and Emma

Max is the black boy

and the tabby was called Emma.

They were adopted from 

The Cats Protection League many years ago

and have been at Rainbow Bridge for a long time.

Mum told us they were both

"Mighty Hunters"

BUT

she doesn't mind that we aren't!!!

Two for Thursday

This is the cupboard next to Mum's chair

She sits here to read the paper and watch TV.

Please ignore all her "must haves" - just rubbish really, 

a pen, 2 zoom grooms, handcream, her glasses, 

and 900 other items she can't live without

plus her daily Mars Bar!!

There are also 2 pictures of her "before us" cats.

The black cat is Max

and the lovely tabby is Emma

of course I may be biased but us tabbies are 

so photogenic.

A Light In Remembrance

Today I am remembering all my furries who have gone on to Rainbow Bridge. They are all remembered every day with such love and happy thoughts.

This is my first ever cat who was named William - he was a mighty hunter and when we opened the door after a day at work the first thing we did was hunt for his offerings to us!! He loved to roam free all day and half the night but always came home for his noms and a cuddle.
.

He died on 20th November 1991 from a severe chest infection. He is still missed so much

.

.

Then came Maxie and Emma on 22nd November 1991. The first picture is Maxie who I have to say absolutely adored me from the moment he saw me at the Cats Protection League and climbed the legs of my jeans to settle in my arms - I never looked at any other cat.

.

He was also a mighty hunter and used to collect his "girl" friend across the road and they would proceed to the local cemetery and bring offerings back to her mum and us.

.

He died on 20th November 2005 (the exact day 14 years later than William) he had stomach cancer.

.

Emma was chosen by my late husand on the same day as Maxie at the same shelter as Maxie. He fell in love with her on sight and she had very pretty markings. Emma also was a great hunter and always brought her presents home to us including a live rat once!! My husband ran outside and grabbed it from her before she could bring it inside to play with. The rat bit him and would not let it go and he had to hold it and and kill it to get it's teeth out of his finger. He then had to go the the doctors for a tetanus injection!!

After my husband died she decided I was better than nothing and transferred her affection to me but she only lived for a few months and I had to have her euthanised on 28th November 2009.

I put her ashes on my husband's ashes plot so they were together again.

Now Hannah and Lucy live with me - thankfuly they are not mighty hunters.

Beau's Birthday

.

In honour of Beau's birthday I am wearing black and white today! We hope all his wishes come true.

We hope lots of kitties find furever homes today. Also this post is in memory of William (also known as Yumps), Maxie and Emma who came before us).

.

btw it's mum's birthday today too - we think that she is about 100 years older than Beau!

World Cat Day 2010

This is our first World Cat Day and we are quite excited. We are lucky that mum loves us lots and we get snuggles and kisses galore.
.
We would like to start with a picture of Emma, she was the cat who was here before us, she is sitting on a beautiful gizzy quilt that Darling Millie's mum made for her.

She had a dark marking running across her chest and neck and mum used to call it her necklace.
.

They had only just arrived here and snuggled there together quite a lot - there was plenty of room then for them both to stretch out - not so much now though!!

The next picture is of Lucy sitting on one or her favourite cushions looking down the garden in the hope of seeing some birdies.

This picture of Hannah is one of her latest and she is snuggling with her pink mousey and posing at the same time! She says look at me mum aren't I cute!!

Relaxation

This is a picture of a gizzy quilt that Millie's Mum Lynne made last year for Emma. Emma was a gentle cat who sadly had to go to sleep due to several health problems at the end of November at the age of 19 years. Emma loved her quilt and spent many hours contemplating many things and when that tired her out sleeping. This picture was taken a short time before her death.

Here is Hannah sleeping on the same gizzy which as you can see has never been moved from its position on the sofa as it is always known as Emma's spot.




Finally here is a picture of me on the quilt - Mum says I look a little miffed in that picture - probably because I had to unseat Hannah so that I could have my turn on it.
