Watch the Birdies

Lucy got very excited earlier this year when a nest was built in this tree.

There has been some baby birdies born in that nest and their parents have been fetching them food. They have now started to fly and keep landing on our conservatory roof before flying back to the tree. Hannah is getting very interested in their activities as you can see.

As we have a clear roof she can see them and they are taunting her by walking above her head.

In her excitement the elegant black cat sitting on the window sill has been knocked to the floor and if you biggify this next picture:

you can see her ear is chipped.
When I showed Hannah the damage I am sure she put her tongue out at me and said tough!!

Lucy and the Tree

This is the tree where Mr. & Mrs Blackbird have their nest. It is not in our garden so I can't show you the bottom of it. Mum thinks it is a type of conifer and as you can see it is very big and thick.

Mum says I will need climbing gear and ropes to get to the nest when I am baby bird sitting while Mr. & Mrs. Blackbird go out for a break. I think I may need a few tree climbing lessons before I set off - has any cat got any tips for me?

It is very windy here today and the tree is really shaking and swaying do you think I ought to have a harness on so if I get blown out of it I won't fall down to the ground and also should I hold on to the babies so they don't get shaken out of the nest?
