Can you see me hiding
under our jasmine and Hannah looking up
at the pretty yellow flowers,
even Henry (our intruder)
stopped to take a look.
Mum spent 2 days outside
with the secateurs
and just look what she did
and as you can see now we've got nowhere to hide!!!
.
Oh no ... all the hidey spots are gone, gone, gone! What will you do!
ReplyDeletePS now we must go to the dictionary and look up the word "secateurs" since we do not know what it means!
Secateurs are like extra strong scissors (but with curved blades) that will cut through thick stems. The climbers were each side of the garden and looked so pretty in the spring but the fences badly needed creosoting to preserve them and the only way to do it was by cutting them down.
DeleteThanks Ann for asking, we didn't know what Secateurs were either. Sounds like something I could use in my yard. Lucy, I bet that bush will grow back pretty fast. The intruder is very handsome. Bet he thinks you two ladies are very pretty. You all have a great day.
ReplyDeleteThe worse part of this was creosoting the fence panels! I had enjoyed the jasmines through the winter but although I was sorry to see them get cut back so harshly by the time next winter comes they should be (fingers crossed) full or yellow flowers again.
DeleteI think Marg is right. The intruder thinks you ladies are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHis name is Henry - he was thrown out by his family when they had a baby but fortunately a couple took him in (I only know this because this couple live next door to a good friend of mine). He has a lovely home with them now and often goes into my friend's house (they have a cat called Lucky) and makes himself at home there too!!
DeleteOh no...a good hiding place ruined.
ReplyDeleteHoping your hiding place grows back real fast! How very handsome Henry is!
ReplyDeleteTrue, but you will get to watch the plant grow tall and beautiful against the lattice! :)
ReplyDeletethe critters in the cottage xo
Hopefully the hidey spot will grow back quickly pretty girls!
ReplyDeleteHope it will grow back again. Great to hear your intruder got a new home. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteLucy we hope your hiding spot will blossom and grow back very quickly. Sometimes it's good to cut things back and they come back even better and more beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWe are sorry your human took your hiding spot!
ReplyDeleteOh no ! No hiding spot anymore ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteOh no! Your great hiding spot is ruined! But we think it will grow back quickly, once the painting is done. Hugs to you both, and Mum, too!
ReplyDeleteHannah and Lucy - do not despair - I have been meowing to Mummy about your problem and she assures me that your jasmine will grow back bigger and better than before!
