Lucy Update

.
Lucy is much brighter today and is playing in and out of her tunnel. However getting the meds down her throat is getting to be a bit problem now she is very fiesty!!

.

.
I am taking her back to the see the v-e-t lady who I usually see for them this afternoon and hope she can change the meds to tablet form or slow release injection as my hands and I are losing the battle with syringing the different ones in to her.
.
We would like to thank everyone for their kind messages - I will get round to replying to you all soon.

  3. We are really glad to hear that Lucy is a little better. Hopefully the vet can give you some new kind of medicine that is easier. We are still crossing our paws for you Lucy and big hugs to Mom. We know she is a wreck. Take care.

  4. We're glad you're doing better, Lucy! We hope you can get an easier med to take too. What about pill pockets, if your mum gets pills? We hear they work for some kitties. Good luck! *Kitty kisses* from us and big smooches from our mom!

P.S. Derry and mom thank you very much for adding the auction graphic to your sidebar!

  6. We're happy Lucy is feeling better. We sure hope the vet can come up with another way to give her meds. We get pills mostly...liquid meds always end up more on mom than in us!!

    We're still purring for Lucy.

  10. Oh sweet and feisty Lucy!!! You are incredible!! Yay that you are feeling better and even playing with your tunnel!!! But you must be nice to mum and get her to syringe the meds into you! Oh dear!!

Dear mum Sue! Me and Charlie appreciate the difficulties!! We hope your vet will find substitutes for these syringed meds that you can at least mix with food or something like that!! I can never understand how vet science has not created tablet/liquid meds that are palatable/edible/taste yummy or meds that are so super tasty the kitties/doggies will be lapping them up! LOL!

Awwww but it's great to hear that Lucy is doing better than she was over the weekend!!!

Hugs to her and mum and lovely Hannah too! Take care

  12. So glad Lucy is better now and I hope you get an easy medication.

When Fin would voice her complaints about being grabbed Hubby managed to squeeze the meds right in. It was a miracle.

But, you HAVE to take your medicines. They make you well, so please don't fight too much.
Just enough to show your Mum who's boss.

  20. Poor Lucy, we are so sorry you have been poorly. Now, that Antepsin, in liquid form tastes really bad to us cats. Our Angel used to have to have it for reflux and she hated it. We then found out that it comes in pill form and doesn't taste of anything much. So Angel would get her dose of Antepsin as a crushed up pill in water, then syringed. If she was really not in the mood for syringing, the pill got crushed into her fuuds. Maybe Xantac tastes horrid too? Might be a crushable pill for that one as well.

We send Lucy lots of rumbly purrs and hope she continues to feel much better!

    Whicky Wuudler

PS: One cat swallow = no more than 1ml of liquid at a time. Any more than 1ml per shot and it can make us gag and hate the syringe even more :)

We are all so glad you are feeling better and we hope that the Vet has a pill that they can give you instead of the liquid.

  30. Don't concern yourself with returning comments right now. The most important thing is to get Lucy well. I'm so happy to hear that she's doing better and feeling scrappy enough to give you trouble.

We hope the positive upturn to good health continues.

  31. Glad to hear Lucy is feeling a bit better. How about a sturdy pair of gardening gloves to help with administering the meds without bloodshed? :-) Fat Eric was always very easy to give meds to but his late sister Hattie was terrible, when she was having twice daily pills it involved two humans and towels and wrestling and lots of bad words!

  32. Oh we are so sorry to read that Lucy has been sick. We are glad she is feeling better and we are sending over tons of purrs and prayers for her. And I can sympathize about trying to get her to take her meds - Kirzon is terrible about it. I wish you good luck with that and hope you can get pills or a shot for her!

  33. We are so glad to hear that Lucy is getting better. We will continue to purr and pray!

  34. That's good news - except for the struggles, that is!

  35. I am glad that Lucy is feeling feisty enough to fight her meds, but sympathize with medicating an unwilling cat. Herman would take his little, almost tasteless pills in a pill pocket willingly, until I made the mistake of putting one of his larger, nasty tasting pills in one, then he wouldn't touch a pill pocket again for anything. I wish you the best of luck and hope and pray for Lucy to get well soon. Herman sends healing purrs.
