Hannah's Gossip

.
Some while ago you may remember Mum bought Lucy a wave scratcher in the forlorn hope she would use it instead of the carpet.

If she'd asked me I could have told her to save her money.

Well now she's come home with this flat one.

.

.
As you can see I like to roll on it but there is a gap at the side of it where it is too short to completely fill the beloved scratching place in the doorway. Now guess who either jumps over it or tippy toes down the side and scratches the carpet further in.

.
I'll give you a hint her name begins with L)

.

.
I cover my face up when I laugh to spare mum's blushes.

HA HA HA!!

  2. You're very nice to cover up your face when you laugh at your Mom! We hope your Mom finds a solution to Lucy scratching the carpet!

  4. MOL Looks like Mom might need to buy a bunch of those to cover the carpet until that silly Lucy learns not to use the carpet. I bet Mom saw you Hannah even though you covered your face.
    Have a great day.

  5. Nicki likes to scratch the carpet, which is okay because all the remaining carpet needs to come up--it was the cheap builder's beige stuff. Annie and Derry prefer vertical surfaces, and there are plenty of cat stands/conds/scratchers in the house.

How about spraying the scratcher with catnip spray to attract Lucy to it?

Also, when I was training "angel" Chumley and then Annie to use the kitty posts, I'd praise them and make a big fuss when they did. (Of course I still do, but not all the time now.)

I admit that all the cats made a huge mess of the carpet on the stairs, tore it to pieces, so I pulled that up a couple of years ago.

    Good luck!

  7. Boy, I can really sympathize with your Mom on this one! My Dylan completely avoids the scratchers we bought for him in favour of the furniture.

Lucy probably likes the texture of the carpet, so I don't know if any scratcher will do. Sometimes there's just no winning.

Hannah sure seems to like this latest one though -- it's fun to roll around on anyway!

  8. Awwww sweet Hannah!!!! It's very good of you to spare your mum's blushes!! You do look so happy rolling around on your new scratcher!

Me and Charlie think lovely Lucy is being very clever knowing just where to scratch! Charlie agrees that there's nothing that beats carpet scratching! LOL!

    Take care

I understand when I watch my brother Ping do mischievous things I just laugh and laugh because I know it drives Momma crazy! We hope you can get Lucy to stop, but habits are hard to break.

  13. I used to scratch on the carpet all the time, then when dad changed the carpet he used some of the old one to recover the small cat tree. I still scratch on the carpet ocassionally but I usually use the cat tree now.
