  12. ESCAPADE
    Softly she sleeps now,
    Sweetly she sighs,
    Snuggling in circles...
    Sensing sunrise.

    Slowly sun sifts in,
    Soft, from the spring skies,
    Signaling "breakfast" and
    Sleeping's demise.

    Stately she sits up,
    Stretches to size...
    Slinks through the sheets now
    Stalking some prize.

    Swiftly she swoops down,
    Slobbering "surprise!"
    Sandpap'ring my face,
    (Starved, I surmise.)

    Staunchly I stir not,
    Squinching my eyes,
Snubbed so, she sequels out a
    Soulful reprise!

    Sprightly she springs fort!
    Such scams she tries!
    Swatting and smacking...
    Sideswipes and slides!

    Sagely, I succumb,
    Sleepy, I rise,
    Slave-like I scoop out some
    "Sardine Surprise."

    Sweetly she snuggles now,
    Softly she sighs.
    Sated, she slumbers as
    Siege One subsides.
