New Year's Eve

Boxing Day

Boxing Day is mostly a UK holiday.  

It was a day off for servants when they

would receive a Christmas Box from their

Masters and Mistresses and were allowed

to go home for the day to see their families.

It was also a day to watch horse racing

when they could lose their Christmas Box by

betting on the wrong horse!

Nowadays some silly people go swimming in the sea

BRRRRR!!

Fox hunting was also a tradition although now it is 

forbidden to chase foxes with packs of dogs

so now the hounds chase artificial trails.

However there is a new Boxing Day sport

It is called "SHOPPING"

when thousands rush and queue for the stores to  open

for the chance to buy something they would never have

wanted if it hadn't been reduced!

Our Secret Paw

We were so excited when our Secret Paws parcel arrived.

It was from Kizzie who lives quite near to us in the UK.

Hannah came right up to the camera to make sure Mum   

had switched it on.

and she snoopervised the pretty wrapping paper

to make sure Mum had opened everything

We were both given self filling water bowls which

we loved and it meant that we didn't have to wait for

each other if they had got to the bowl to slurp first!!
 .

There were some great balls 

which were good for whapping and a lovely

cat nip bag which smelled wonderful.

Just look at this lovely fat fishy

with a wonderful and feathery coloured tail.

There was also a great mousie

with pink ears and an orange tail 

he's great fun to bat round.

and to your Mum for helping with the packing

using her opposable thumbs!

Lucy says thank you to you all

for your messages while she was 

at the torturers yesterday.

She is relieved to be home and is going to

nap in her hammock all day.

Our Gotcha Anniversary

Today is our 3rd Gotcha Day 

These 2 pictures

were among the first ones she ever took of us.

This was Hannah's first taste of

CHICK-HEN!!

As you can see Lucy made short work of our scratch post

and we also discovered the joy

of boxes and crunkley brown paper!

Quite a while later we discovered NIP

as you can see Hannah had taken deep sniffs and

Lucy was already out of it.

Mum started to try and hide our stash as 

we were getting into bad habits!!

We mostly get on very well together but sometimes

we want to go in opposite directions and there is a 

stand off as neither of us want to give in!

When the weather is bad we often go for a siesta

Hannah likes to snuggle

with some stuffies while Lucy likes to snooze

on her soft pink blankie.

When it's warm outside Lucy likes to hide in the jasmine

and pounce on passing feet but she doesn't realise that

she is being watched through the window!

Now we are getting ready for our next Christmas

Mum went to the post office today to collect a "surprise" parcel 

from our Secret Paws

She knows who it is but she's not telling!!

We'll find out though when we open it.

We would like to thank you all for being our furrends.

I thought I'd surprise you all

by appearing thought the blinds,  

but please don't tell Mum

or she'll be MOAN, MOAN, MOAN

about black fur on them.

By the way it's our 3rd Gotchaversary tomorrow!!

Thankful Friday

I am

thankful that it is

not going to snow

Boing

I hadn't played with my Boing for ages

so I decided to have a practice

I grabbed it and then let it go

and up it shot and then

bounced back

so I got ready to aim and fire again!

Monday Moaning

This is where I spent Sunday morning

The silly weather person said today would be full

of SUNSHINE

But while we had sun in front of us and  a beautiful blue sky

which looked so close we could almost touch it

in reality we had a cloud over our heads and it stayed there

and rained non stop for three hours!

Winter Jasmine

The only colour we have in our garden at the moment

is our winter jasmine

Mum thinks it will flower for 2 or 3 months yet

depending on the weather

Our Peggy Blankie

It has been very cold here

with big white night frosts

so I have to admit

I've hogged our Peggy blankie.

A Whisker

We were strolling round the garage roof

when we heard Mum shout

"dinner time girls"

and I just beat Hannah back

 by a whisker!!

Fence Patrol

Yesterday I started off going along the fence

and took an interest in the birds in our neighbour's garden

but out the corner of my eye I could see her watching me

through the window so I moved quickly along

and pretended

that I hadn't seen her!



It's a good job that it wasn't today when Mum posted this



or you wouldn't have seen me due to the pouring rain!!
